College Dropout LANCE is determined to help his transgender sibling MAX with a high school bully. So Lance convinces Max to work with him in the wealthy and debauched backyards of the Valley where he can teach Max his version of masculinity. “Don’t you trust me Max? Don’t you trust me for nothin’? Plus we’ll save up for a rad car. Then no one’s gonna mess with you ever!”
The only problem is Max doesn’t really care about cars. And the coding team is about to go against West Lake - “It’s a single elimination tournament, Lance, I can’t just mess around after school. Besides, Melanie is on the team. What if, you know, I could talk to her someday?”
But Max has another run in with the bully Trish. And this time it's a fight in the computer lab! To make things even worse, Max is unjustly suspended from the lab for refusing to rat on the bully at school.
So Max becomes Lance's apprentice after all. It's actually fun at first, but all is not what it seems in the backyards of the valley...
On the job, the two siblings become closer, and are forced to recognize they are on vastly different paths. Max sees Lance is selling drugs, in an open relationship with his girlfriend, sleeping with many of his clients including the bully's mom, and even auditioning for porn!
The money for the car and Max's safety at school hinge on a party Lance has planned at the bully Trish's house while her family is out of town. But by now, Max and Lance are seriously butting heads. Can they learn to accept one another? Or will their growing animosity implode everything?
In the end, Max becomes famous at school for the epic party implosion, gains Trish’s respect and garners the attention of his crush, who’s gonna help him study, if you know what I mean?
And Lance realizes he’s been in denial about his absentee father and is overcompensating by sleeping around. But still, he’s gonna do the porn video to prove he’s good on his word, unlike their Dad ever was!
